The Problem With Most Training

Here’s what usually happens.

A facilitator walks in. Slides go up. People are asked what good leadership looks like, what great communication sounds like, what collaboration means to them. And everyone answers correctly. Of course they do.

They’re not lying. They know the right answers. They’ve known them for years. That’s never been the problem.

The problem is the gap between what people know and how they actually show up: under pressure, in a meeting that’s going sideways, with a colleague who’s driving them mad, when there’s something to win or something to lose.

A slide doesn’t reach that gap. A game does.

The Shift

Most training is a performance. Participants perform engagement. Facilitators perform insight. Everyone leaves having said the right things.

Games break that contract.

When people are trying to win, trying to strategize, trying to keep up, they stop managing their image. What shows up instead is how they actually think, how they actually lead, how they actually treat the person next to them under pressure. That’s the material we work with. Not the version people prepared. The real one.

How this works
  • Understand
Every engagement starts with a conversation. Not about activities, but about the behaviour you want to see more of.
  • Design
The experience is built around your people, your context and your culture. No off-the-shelf workshops.
  • Play
Teams solve meaningful challenges together. As they play, familiar patterns of leadership, communication and collaboration naturally emerge.
  • Reflect
The debrief turns those moments into insight, helping people recognise patterns, challenge assumptions and decide what they’ll do differently back at work.
